Bridge Art – fully_grounding_2018
The project developed during the residency fully_grounding 2018 builds upon the concept of synanthropy, which concerns the process of coexistence between human beings, fauna and flora. The questions pursued include: how can undomesticated species (animal or plant) benefit from coexistence with human beings and vice versa? What kind of balances or imbalances results from these cohabitations?
This series of photographs shows examples of synanthropic flora and fauna and is part of a continuous study of the qualities of public space in urban and inhabited areas. Synanthropic flora refers to the species planted by humans, synanthropic fauna refers to wild animals that benefit from living together with humans or human environments.
The project aims to more deeply explore issues such as cohabitation between humans and animals and the ecology of choice as an ethical act. When trying to understand the reasons why animals migrate, change their behavior or even die out, there are various problems that also influence our ecological sense of responsibility.
